Region de Los Lagos - Esquel / Bariloche

A great thank's to Graziella and Pitchi (parents of Cecilia, friend of Baptiste in Pasadena, USA) to welcome us in Esquel, geographic limit between the argentinean pampa to the south and the mountaineous lake district to the north.
Thank you for succulent dishes: Bife Milanese, Guiso de lentejas and others, thank's for nice advises regarding the following itererary, for captivating discussions as well as for the walnut bag and the plum jam.

Nightly inspiration.
Get creating with your headlights...

After a stop for the Carretera Austral road, we find the mythic road 40 again, running along the Andes on the argentinian side.

Let's start the lake district, happy to find the sun again, even if nights are really cold (frosty tent, 10 fisrt kilometers by 0 Celcius deggres, hard for toes!)

While Juliette (childhhood friend of Baptiste, doing an intership for French politics school in Osorno, Chile) joined us for 2 days in Bariloche (chocolate argentinian capitale, Miam!) we take our time to reach the beautiful laguna Frey, on the top of a mountain overhanging the city.

The day after, quite walk around the Moreno Lake with Juliette, Alix and Carla.
Sunset from the Cerro Campanario.
